Middle School Theater Program

Plans are being made and excitement is starting to build forour Spring 2012 musical, Beauty and the Beast, Jr.  Because of the timing of Easter this year, our show will be AFTER April vacation on the weekend of April 27-29, 2012.  Mark your calendars!

Some important dates for those considering taking part in our show:

·     Monday evening, December 19 at 7:00 PMwill be the parent (student optional) information meeting in the schoollibrary.  Sixth grade familiesnew to the theatre program are very welcome to come see what we’re allabout.  Scripts and music CD’s willbe available to be signed out at this meeting.

·     Friday, December 30 from 2:30-5:00 PM wewill have an optional workshop in the Parish Center. We will readthrough the show, and learn a brief piece of choreography for auditions.

·     Friday, January 6 starting at 2:30 PM will be auditionsfor Beauty and the Beast.  Allstudents will learn a brief choreographed routine, sing alone or in groups oftwo, and read from the script. Most students will be dismissed at 4:30 with some being required to staya little later for callbacks for certain roles.

·     Rehearsals are every Friday afternoon (exceptfor Good Friday, of course) from January 13 through April 20.

·     Performances are Friday, April 27 and Saturday,April 28 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, April 29 at 2:00 PM at the Orpheum Theatre in Foxboro Center.
