At St. Mary’s, technology is strategically used to enhance the educational experience for all students.
This, and all efforts, are:
mission driven
curriculum based
student centered
When it comes to technology, we emphasize:
educational purpose
online safety
using proper etiquette at all times
the "public and permanent" nature of our digital world
Our students in grades K-5 have technology class once a week. Grades 3-8 have a chromebook assigned to each student for use throughout the school day. We have 20 iPads for grades K-2 and 6 carts (150) of Chromebooks.
Basic computer skills are taught in the younger grades with increasing complexity added as the students progress through the grades. At the time of graduation, the students will have mastered the technological skills they will need for high school and beyond.
Students in Grades Preschool-2 have a split technolog class, during which half the group attends a STEAM class in the Library and the other half of the group receive their regular technology special.
